Manhattan School of Music

Manhattan School of Music launched its groundbreaking Distance Learning program in 1996, the first of its kind at a major conservatory. Since then, using state-of-the-art interactive videoconference technology to enhance MSM students’ curriculum, they have also developed programs to connect students, educators and distinguished artists around the globe. Additionally, their live webstreamed concerts and master classes, featuring MSM student ensembles and acclaimed faculty, now attract a worldwide audience.

K-12 & Community Programs

MSM Distance Learning offers K-12 standards-based music-related programs to public and private schools throughout the country and abroad. National and New York State Learning Standards for the Arts are incorporated into each program’s content and design, as are connections to core subjects, such as Social Studies, Language Arts and World History. This selection of programs, presented by MSM’s Distance Learning Teaching Artists, include instrumental and vocal ensemble coaching in classical, jazz and musical theatre styles, private instruction, and themed programs with interdisciplinary connections in American music, Opera, Jazz, World Music and General Music.

All of their K-12 and Community programs are fully on-demand. They are scheduled to accommodate your school or community, and can be modified for specific grade levels, age groups, and curriculum requirements. They can create new programs that meet your educational goals.
