Making games with Microsoft Kodu
Teach your students programming by letting them have fun creating and playing their own games.
Kodu provides an end-to-end creative environment for designing, building, and playing games. Programs are created on the PC with a compatible version for the Xbox 360. Using either a game controller or keyboard/mouse students create a range of terrains, worlds and characters, controlling the characters’ movement, sound and vision using an intuitive icon-based language.
Delegates will learn the basics of programming in Kodu, looking at how it can be used within the curriculum and get started useing the programming language to create simple games.
Suitable for key stages 1 and 2 the workshop is cross curricular for teachers or support staff working with the children.
After the workshop delegates will have the opportunity to stay on-line for a Q&A /help session if required.
