Introduction to Python
With the introduction of the new curriculum all students are to learn programming. Python is a great progression from scratch and is freely available. Works well on a PC / Mac or Raspberry pi.
This session will look at the programming tool and language python, used on many systems including the raspberry pie. Python is a text based language and works well as a progression from scratch. This workshop will include:
- Overview of Python features.
- Getting and installing Python.
- Accessing the Python documentation
- Python’s strengths.
- Executing Python programs from the command line
- Creating and executing Python programs using IDLE
- Getting started basic commands.
- Python on the Raspberry PI and expansion boards.
Suitable for the top of ks2 upwards and for those interested in using Python in the new computing curriculum.
After the workshop delegates will have the opportunity to stay on line for a Q&A /help
