June 2019 – TBA

1pm to 3pm

A videoconferencing opportunity in true ‘Euro Vision’ style for primary schools.

Now in its 12th year this session connects  schools simultaneously over the ja.net v-scene system for an afternoon of MFL songs and competition.  Schools perform a short song, no longer than 3 minutes in a MFL. (French, German or Spanish). Feel free to dress up and create a performance.

All Schools will be able watch while other schools perform, then after a short break, vote for the best performance and report back in true Eurovision style. The day is hosted by our very own compare Pierre.

Performances will be judged along the lines of:

  • Are the children joining in?
  • Is it an enthusiastic performance?
  • Are the children having fun?

The winning school will  perform their song again, and the video hosted on our website (subject to permission forms been returned etc.).

Certificates will be awarded to all schools.

Times are dependent on the number of schools taking part, we are looking to start the half day session approx 1.00pm for a  3.00pm  finish.

As usual YorkshireVC will be able to support any schools new to the technology, do let us know if you require any assistance.

YorkshireVC will contact you a couple of weeks before to test your equipment, and then a 2nd check a couple of days beforehand.

As we will be using the national video conferencing system we will be able to connect to you via

  • A full H323 endpoint registered on JISC v-scene (was JVCS).
  • A Full H323 endpoint with an external IP address.
  • A laptop using software like PVX registered on JISC v-scene.
